Who should buy a domain name?
Everyone! Even your unborn children should have a domain name!
Think about it! Who should buy a domain name? Should domain names be reserved for businesses and bloggers or should everyone buy a domain name?
Considering how rapidly the Internet is growing on a minute-by-minute basis and that domain names are unique, which means there are no two domain names alike, everybody should buy a domain name as quickly as possible! You should even buy your unborn children domain names.
I know that may sound overboard, but when you consider how rapidly the Internet is growing, you must also consider the fact that there is a high probability you will want to have an Internet presence at some point in your life, which will require the purchase of a domain name. If not you, your children will most certainly want to have an Internet presence at some point and most likely at an early age. But will they be able to buy a domain name without having to use 60 or 65 characters?
Domain names should always be short, sweet, concise and as simple as possible so they can easily be remembered and associated with the subject matter. You won't want to say to your friends or potential clients:
"Visit my website at cometomysitetobuymyproductandgetareallysuperdeal.com".
Also, you won't want web surfers to have to try and remember such a long domain name.
Since domain names are unique, you must consider the longer you wait to obtain your own unique domain name, the less likelyhood you will be able to get the unique domain name that suits the subject matter of what you want your website to be and still be able to keep the domain name short, sweet, concise and as simple as possible.
What unique domain names should I buy for me or for my children?
For personal use, my first suggestion is to always try to get your personal name as a domain name, as well as for your children. For example, if your name is John Smith, you would want to get johnsmith.com, but of course a common name like that would be nearly impossible to get. So then what you do is try to find similar options such as johnsmith as a .net .org .biz or even .info. But again, with such a common name even that might be difficult, so then you start looking at other possibilities such as using a middle name in the domain name or even the city where you live such as johnrobertsmith or johnsmithofmilwaukee.com or again with .net .org .biz or .info.
